GOVERNMENT OF MANIPUR
State Health Agency, Manipur (SHA) was set-up by the Government of Manipur with the principal task of implementing Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMAY) in the State. It was registered as a society under Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 on 25th July 2018 and has been functioning in full, operational autonomy since its national launch on 23rd September 2018.
A child agency of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur with full functional autonomy, SHA (Manipur) is governed by a Governing Board chaired by the Minister of Health & Family Welfare, with the Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Manipur, as the vice-chairperson. The day to day operations of the office is under the management of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), an officer of the rank of Addl. Secretary in the Government of Manipur. The CEO is also the ex officio Member Secretary of the Governing Board.
State Health Agency Manipur has a core team established and is supported by development partner GIZ to implement PMJAYalong with a TPA hired as Implementation Support Agency. In order to strengthen the service delivery of the scheme, District Implementation Units has also been set up in all the Districts of the State which is chaired by Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district. The office of State Health Agency Manipur is currently located at Directorate of Health Services, Lamphel, Imphal West, Manipur.
